What’s the difference between Sexological Bodywork and Somatic Therapy sessions?

Somatic Therapy does not have to be sex or relationship specific, while SexBod sessions are geared to working with sex and/or relationship related concerns. In Somatic Therapy sessions there is no touch, while in SexBod sessions there can be one-way touch from practitioner to client for the purpose of the client’s learning.

Is somatic sexology safe for trauma?

Yes. Somatic therapy is widely used in trauma-informed care because it works with the nervous system rather than cognitive recall. The approach emphasises safety, choice, pacing, and regulation.

How is somatic therapy different from talk therapy?

While talk therapy works primarily through conversation and cognition, somatic therapy includes the body as an active part of the process. We may work with breath, movement, sensation, and awareness to support healing at a nervous system level — especially in areas where words alone may not reach.
