Absolutely! Did you know there are five different subsets of PMS? It's a bewildering condition to take on without the necessary training, because each type reflects different hormonal imbalance. Some types are more stress driven, others can be more sex hormone driven. So the first thing we'll do in your initial consultation is identify which type/s you may have and get to work on normalising the relevant hormones. My treatment protocol for PMS includes dietary support, weight management support, neurochemical assessment, adrenal restoration, facial acne support. I refer to evidence-based protocols alongside traditional wisdom in my clinical treatment of PMS.

My protocols for PCOS are individualised based on your PCOS phenotype (there are several different presentation types for PCOS) and your unique health needs. Naturopathy emphasizes dietary modifications, herbal medicines and lifestyle changes to ease the transition to menopause, focussing on balancing hormones, reducing inflammatory load, supporting mood and alleviating discomfort. My treatment protocols for perimenopause include dietary modifications (a well-balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins). I also often recommend phytoestrogen-rich foods like soy and flaxseed, which can mimic the effects of estrogen in the body. I use herbal remedies like Black Cohosh, Shatavari, Hops, Dong Quai, and Red Clover, which have been used for centuries to alleviate menopausal symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep disturbances, but these extracts must be tailored to you individually for safety and efficacy. I use functional testing to assess hormonal status, stress response and metabolic health if there’s weight gain. Stress management is an important aspect of treatment. Stress can exacerbate perimenopausal symptoms so I use herbs to help you manage emotional fluctuations and sleep more deeply. My treatments for perimenopause are highly individualized, to suit your unique needs and symptoms. This personalized approach brings more effective symptom relief.

To best understand the scope of hormonal imbalance we can use functional pathology testing to determine exactly which hormones are disrupted and to what degree. I can provide a range of tests from salivary hormone, dried urine (DUTCH test), neurochemistry, blood tests, the new MetaXplore gastrointestinal tests as well as Hair and Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA).
