What do I need to do to prepare for my Reiki session?

For any Reiki session please come with an open heart and open mind. I ask you to stay hydrated, eat a light meal and have no alcohol beforehand. You want to make sure you are as open and clear minded as possible. You can wear anything you feel comfortable in for the whole session. If you would like to please come with any questions or intentions you would like to work on in the session. It is also completely fine if you don’t have any and we will see what comes up throughout. I also ask you to keep phone usage to a minimum before and after the session. It is important to keep clear of anything that can distract you in the session and for after allow yourself to sit with this wonderful life force energy; keeping it just for you.

What happens during a Reiki session?

Firstly we will start with a consultation and explanation on reiki. I will require a quiet space preferably lying down on your back but if you prefer to sit then that is ok too. I will play music and ask you to close your eyes and go into a relaxed meditative state. I will perform the session, using a non invasive method (no touch) and look for any energy blockages. Every client will experience something different; some feel a heat sensation, have visions, see colours or just simply feel relaxed. There is no right or wrong way to feel you just have to trust the Universal life force is working best for you. After the session we will have a de brief about anything that may have arisen and any questions you may have. The session including the consultation and debrief will last 45mins to 1 hour. I will always follow up with recommendations the next day about any sound healings, meditations, affirmations and so on. I always let clients know if you want to share or not share anything that is completely up to you and let me know and every session will always be in confidence. I want to make sure you are as comfortable as possible as this if your journey.

Where are the Reiki sessions held?

I come to you which I have found very successful as clients like to be in their own space and it is convenient. I require a quiet space where we can perform the session. I will bring oils, incense and crystals to help set the atmosphere.

How many Reiki sessions are required ?

This is dependant on each client. During your first Reiki session we will have a consultation about any specific goals and see what comes up during the session. It is recommended every 4-6 weeks to have a session. Reiki healing is like any other sort of therapy in order to maintain your well being it is important to be consistent with your self development.

Reiki is a healing therapy based on the principle that we are all connected/ guided by the same Universal life force energy, that controls our physical, mental and spiritual well being. Energy is at the core of everything and this beautiful Universal life force energy is constantly flowing throughout us to help heal and connect us on soul level. However due to life stresses , trauma, unprocessed emotions etc, we can block this flow of energy which in turn can create mental, spiritual and physical problems. A reiki practitioner helps identify these blockages and re direct the flow of energy to heal a client.
