How many reiki treatments will I need?

This is a difficult one to answer as it really depends on the individual and what their unique needs are. In general, several Reiki sessions ideally spaced evenly apart (weekly, fortnightly or monthly) are best for the full effects of reiki to be felt.

I have experienced trauma, will reiki be too strong for me?

This is a concern I hear a lot. Reiki is incredibly powerful but also very gentle. It will never release anything that is not in your best interest to release and it certainly won't do it all at the same time if you are not ready for that. Gently, peacefully and slowly is the reiki way. You have nothing to be afraid of.

Is there anything I should do to prepare for my reiki treatment?

Not really although it is helpful if you arrive wearing comfortable clothes and are prepared to remove your shoes. Ideally you would be well hydrated as this is helpful for energy flow.

What should I expect from my first reiki treatment?

During your first Reiki treatment, I always start with a chat to find out the reason why you decided to try Reiki. You are of course free to disclose as much or as little as feels right for you. The treatment will work regardless of how much you would like to tell me but it can sometimes be helpful for me to know if there are specific areas where you would like me to focus on. During the treatment, you will be lying down, fully clothed and covered by a light blanket. I will work my way down the major energy centres of the body to cleanse, clear and release any blockages. I can work with my hands lightly touching you or, if you are not comfortable with physical contact, I can hover my hands just above you. Your complete comfort and relaxation is my absolute priority. Each treatment is different; some people experience physical sensations (such as twitching or jumpy legs), or sensations of warmth, tingles, lightness or floating; some people experience visions or epiphanies. Regardless of any of these, all experience deep, deep relaxation.
