Are you someone who's often told that you're "too sensitive" or need to "toughen up"? Do you feel overwhelmed by the world's intensity, struggling to navigate life's challenges without getting exhausted? If so, you might be a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), and that can help you understand a lot about yourself and your life experience.
 
 

What does being Highly Sensitive mean?

Being highly sensitive means that your nervous system is wired to be more attuned and responsive to stimuli in your environment. HSPs tend to experience emotions and sensory input more intensely and deeply than others. This trait can manifest in various ways, including being easily overwhelmed, feeling exhausted after social interactions, being highly empathetic, and having a rich and complex inner world. HSPs may also have a heightened sensitivity to physical stimuli such as bright lights, loud noises, or certain textures.
 
The very first thing to understand about being highly sensitive is that it is NOT a disorder or a flaw. It’s simply a trait of your personality, also known as Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS), and shared by 15-20% of the World population, which comes with many strengths and gifts, as well as unique challenges.
 
As a recovered Burnt out HSP, I understand the unique challenges and gifts that come with this trait. Blaming and/or ignoring your sensitivity, instead of embracing it as the gift that it is, can lead HSPs to burnout and that is why an adapted form of coaching can do wonders for Highly Sensitive People.

What are the benefits of HSP Coaching?

Coaching is a great tool for highly sensitive people (HSPs) because it provides a safe and supportive space for exploring and understanding their unique needs and challenges. For example, HSPs may struggle with decision-making and follow-through due to their tendency to overthink and second-guess themselves. A coach can help HSPs set goals, provide accountability, support to help them stick to their commitments and quiet the constant chatter in their mind.
 
Here are some of the benefits you can get from coaching if you are Highly Sensitive:

1. Understanding and accepting your sensitivity
While you might have been told, or thought that your sensitivity was an issue, with coaching, you can learn to embrace your sensitivity as a superpower. By understanding the science behind high sensitivity and identifying your unique traits, you can learn to accept and love yourself for who you are.
